Guaranteed second place

Our fate is sealed thanks to Geordies scoring 199 pins in a victory over Rangers and our nearest challengers suffering timely defeats!

Division 4 next season but will we benefit from the £55 bounty which according to the rules should be paid to second placers!

Pushing for top 3 glory

Hovering around 4th position Geordies are well placed to finish in the top 3 and promotion - providing there aren't too many teams dropping out.

Geordies awards dinner

Rescheduled to Anchor at Oldbury on Friday 25th April

Amongst the awards being keenly contested is the Ron Jenkins Trophy to be awarded to the team member with the highest aggregate score.

Updating on-line

There may be some interruption of the usually slick presentation of some items of news as the Hon Sec develops scripts to update scores in real time rather than via a spreadsheet ....

Currently fixtures, scores, etc should be unaffected.

Fixture congestion sorted

Despite valiant efforts to overcome Friends, the Geordies succumbed by a small margin and the Hon Sec sadly has no pressure to squeeze extra matches into the already gappy fixture list.

Ron's Trophy

Ron Jenkins Memorial Trophy

This trophy is to be awarded annually to the team member who achieves the highest aggregate score, i.e. who knocks down the most pins in the course of a season.

The aggregate includes all league and cup matches and recognises a combination of high availability and high scores.

Ron's memorial dinner

The Lammastide, Wanswell on Friday 25th October was the venue for a dinner to celebrate Ron Jenkins' contribution to the Geordies skittles team.

Signed up for TDSL's 59th year

Monies paid, players registered, booklets received and fixtures list compiled. Six vacant slots this season so no excuse for burning out and three possible intensive training sessions on the home alley.

Dates for social events need deciding.

51st season!

Pre-occupied with the possibility that we might have been relegated to Division 6, the only Division in which Geordies have yet to play, we missed our own 50th season celebrations!

Is it too late to arrange a retrospective?

2013/14 season is upon us

Another season already and the Hon Sec's work is never done. Off to the Black Horse tonight to register the team.

Also £15 to pay for three occasions when I failed to enter the team's full names on the sheet. Resolution for the new season - always fill in full names!
